It’s important to know how to look after your vehicle, which is why basic car maintenance training in Uxbridge might be a good idea – particularly since new research has just revealed that four out of ten motorists in the UK admit to not knowing how to change a tyre.
The Accident Advice Helpline study also highlighted that 37 per cent wouldn’t even know where to find their spare wheel, while 26 per cent have said they’ve travelled in their car knowing there was a serious defect like a faulty or broken brake light.
“It’s quite worrying that so many motorists may be getting behind the wheel without the ability to spot simple but potentially serious maintenance issues with their car. Basic knowledge means problems can be nipped in the bud before they turn in to an issue which leaves a motorist stuck on the side of a motorway or busy road having to fix it,” the group’s David Carter said.
Here at Courtwood Car Services, we offer workshop training in various modules so you can easily fill in any gaps in your knowledge if you give us a call. Even learning how to do little things like changing your brake lights, changing your windscreen wipers or even replacing your spark plugs will make you feel more competent as a driver and also help you to save money since you won’t need to go to the garage every time something small goes wrong with your car.
